To be considered, applicants must submit an application for admission as a North Carolina A&T baccalaureate program undergraduate for the fall semester. Application for the University Honors Program must include school or self-nominations. Two letters of recommendation are required. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Prior to college admission, applicants must be on track to graduate secondary school in the spring semester.

The Cheatham White Scholarship provides exceptional educational opportunities to exceptional students who are also adaptable and well-rounded individuals. Cheatham-White Scholarships will be awarded to students with a wide spectrum of interests, proficiency in both the arts and sciences, and a strong commitment to leadership and service.
Each recipient will receive a four-year scholarship covering tuition, student fees, lodging, meals, textbooks, a laptop computer, supplies, travel, and personal expenses. Each scholarship includes four fully-funded summers of enrichment and networking opportunities, which may include international travel and study. It is a comprehensive award intended to recognize the highest levels of academic achievement and potential.

Eligibility of the Cheatham White Scholarship
To qualify for selection as a Cheatham-White Scholar, candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
- Apply for admission to North Carolina A&T as a first-year student for the autumn semester if you are pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- The Honors College application must include either an institution or self-nomination.
- Must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
- Prior to college admission, students should be on track to graduate secondary school in the spring semester.
- Minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 4.00 or greater.
- Minimum SAT or ACT score of 1280 or 28 (test not required for Fall 2023 applicants).
- Exhibit exceptional character and leadership qualities.
- Participate extensively in extracurricular activities.
- Exhibit a strong dedication to service.
- Candidates for Cheatham-White Scholarships shall be selected based on merit, taking into account the aforementioned criteria. Financial need should not be a factor.
Anticipation from Recipients
Scholarships will be renewable if the following conditions are met:
- Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5% per year.
- Full-time enrollment each semester and a minimum of 30 credit hours earned each academic year.
- Maintaining Honors College membership and active participation.
