The purpose of the program is to provide Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Texas high school seniors with the financial resources necessary to pursue educational opportunities.
Applicants must demonstrate financial need and may enroll in any accredited two- or four-year college or university; or vocational/technical school. No minimum GPA or test score is required for this scholarship program, which is one of its distinguishing characteristics.

Students who are awarded the scholarship will receive up to $12,500. The Esler Companies Door of Opportunity scholarship fund has awarded $1.5 million to 121 deserving students since its inception in 2020.

The Opening A Door Of Opportunity Scholarship is a $500 award given annually to pupils across the United States. The scholarship was established to assist students actively pursuing higher education to improve themselves.
Students are required to compose a brief reflection on either the opportunities their education has already afforded them or the opportunities they hope to pursue following graduation. If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, you will respond to this prompt in your essay:

Eligibility of the Door Of Opportunity Scholarship
To allow as many students as possible to apply for the Opening A Door Of Opportunity Scholarship, its eligibility requirements were crafted to be as open as possible. The scholarship is available to all US citizens attending a full-time college, university, or vocational institution in the United States. There are no age requirements for applicants.
The scholarship is also available to students of any discipline attending any U.S. institution. To qualify, applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Submissions for a scholarship should include more than just a contemplation paper. Students must submit the following materials in order to be considered for the award:
- A scholarship application form that is complete
- A reflective essay in response to the scholarship prompt
- A copy of certified student transcripts
Benefits of the Door Of Opportunity Scholarship
The Opening A Door Of Opportunity Scholarship provides a $500 award in September of each year. The scholarship recipient will receive a check for $500 made payable to their institution. The award is designated for tuition and other educational-related expenses.
The deadline for scholarship applications is August 31 each year, and the recipient will be notified via email by September 30. When a recipient accepts the scholarship, they grant Access Hardware permission to use their reflection paper, as well as their identity and school, on the Access Hardware website and in promotional materials.
